35 weeks

We just got back from our 35 week appointment with the doctor.  Everything is going great.  I had a few questions for her (as always) and she put my mind at ease (as always).  I really hope she is the one on the night that I deliver.  I have really enjoyed this whole process and I know that much of that is due to the fact that she is a great doctor who seems to really understand what Damien and I want and expect.

One thing that I asked about was hiccups.  Max gets them so frequently (in fact, the computer keeps moving on my belly as I am typing this due to another round of them).  I know that they are nothing to worry about but I just wanted to mention them.  We also had questions about choosing a pediatrician and she gave me a list of doctors that her office has put together.  It is a starting point.  I want to have that taken care of before I go back to work in (gulp)10 days...

So we finished the nursery.  Well, nearly.  Damien just ordered his Max print that he did awhile ago.  He changed it up a little and I must say, it looks awesome.  Once that is in and we hang it, it will be complete. The nursery came out better than we had expected and I will be taking some photos of it soon and doing a post on it next week.  The blue and orange we chose compliment each other well and the black and white accents look great.  Can't wait to share!

We have a busy couple of days ahead of us.  Tomorrow, my mom and I are driving to Portland, ME to visit my brother who moved there about a month ago.  He had been living for the past 3 years in Burlington, VT and I have to say, it is nice to have him (and his girlfriend) closer to us.  Two hours is a much easier day-trip-drive than 4.  Saturday we are going to the Tom Petty concert.  I love going to his shows, and have been to many over the past 10 years.  The crowd can be somewhat annoying, especially as I get older and it will be interesting being 9 months pregnant and completely sober, but it should be fun nonetheless.  Plus, My Morning Jacket is opening which is exciting.

Sunday is baby shower number 2.  The one we had a few weeks ago was really for my side of the family and my close friends.  My mom put it on for me and since Damien's mom was away in Ireland, it seemed to make sense to do it that way.  Plus, my mom paid for the whole thing so I didn't want to go overboard.  So this one is with Damien's family.  It is at our house, and I am excited.  I haven't seen his mom since the end of May and Damien's aunt and cousins are coming from Ireland.  It will be so nice to see everyone and catch up.

I hope you all have an nice weekend...

  1. I am glad your feeling so great! My baby has been hiccuping but i cant really feel/see it just yet...BUT i can see him/her doing it when I watch the ultrasound. Have you ever seen it? It's so cute! You look so great btw..love the dress here :)
I have three apts. with pediatricians lined up that I heard good things about and who are affiliated with Children's Hospital. It feels good to do things while I have time before the craziness of work hits! You are so close to the finish line and I am so happy for you that you've loved every minute of it! I CANT WAIT to meet Max! Oh..and i can't wait to see how the nursery came out! love you xoxoxo
