21 weeks and counting

Everyone keeps asking me how I feel. I think many of them are surprised by my response which is always the same. Great. Honestly, and I know I may regret saying this later, I have had a wonderful experience so far. I didn't have morning sickness, I was tired to start, but that has subsided, I haven't had any weird cravings, I haven't gained much weight (I think it has a lot to do with my vegan diet) and I am still barely showing. I can still wear most of my regular clothes, although I have been buying some things that I know I will be able to wear as I get bigger. I have yet to purchase any maternity clothing. I am hoping to not have to buy any work clothes, as I will be done for the school year on June 23. I can truly say that I do feel great and I am excited for the months to come. I know that this isn't everyone's experience (I have friends that were so sick and so big in the first 5 months that I am surprised they ever had other children) so I do realize that I have been extremely fortunate. I am officially 21 weeks today and Max is the size of a carrot. Maybe once he is born, we can decorate his room with all the different fruits and veggies he has been compared to (heirloom tomato, banana, pepper, turnip, you get the drift). Can't wait to see what next week brings...

  1. I love the veggie decorating idea. Too cute. I had a wonderful pregnancy for my first...no sickness or weird cravings. I went hiking in Costa Rica 5 months pregnant and went rafting down the river just miles from Nicaragua. Each pregnancy is definitely different from the rest of yours and others. Bask in the wonderful feelings you're having now! Btw..cute shoes.

  2. You are so beautiful pregnant! And I'm glad to hear that the experience has been a good one so far. And I love the idea of decorating with veggies :) How appropriate!
