Wow, it is so nice to finally be able to write that! Such big news and it has been so hard to keep it a secret for so long. I am officially 13 weeks today, and officially through my first trimester. And I feel great. We wanted to wait until we got the ok from the doctor that the risk of any problems was significantly less and we made it. Now I know that problems can come up at any time so we are being smart and careful about everything. But I have been dying to share this with all of you. It seems like so many people are pregnant now, especially other bloggers that I follow, so it is kind of nice to be able to go through it together. Many of my good friends are either pregnant or they/their wives just had a baby.
I was extremely lucky during the first trimester and wasn't really sick at all. A little bit of nausea here and there, but overall, I felt pretty good. Oh, I was tired, don't get me wrong. But I always feel like I am tired so I guess I expected it (although I have to say that I had never been that tired). I do have some energy back so I am hoping to start going to the gym regularly again. I had been going the first 2 months but this past month has just been so busy at school (we just finished final exams again and started new classes again today) and I was away last week on a 3 day conference with Student Council. So one goal is to head back to the gym. I still am not showing so I would like to keep running (I have doctor's approval) until I just can't anymore.
One big thing that keeps coming up is my diet. I checked with my doctor and have also done a lot of reading and I am confident that continuing with a mostly vegan diet is completely healthy for both me and the baby. I take an all-natural, vegan prenatal vitamin and just make sure that I am getting all that I need from everything else that I am eating.
So that is our big news. I hope to get back to my regular posting now that I have finally shared our news. It made it a little difficult because so much of what we have been doing has been centered around having our first baby. We are so excited!!!!
The first picture is pretty obvious but we actually didn't buy it. Our good friends just had a very adorable, very long baby girl and they couldn't use this onesie since she didn't fit into it. So they passed it on to us; our very first baby outfit!
The second picture is the first decoration we bought for the baby's room. We found it at Ikea (obviously) and just loved the simpleness of it and the fact that it is animals and the fact that it is a Picasso. We can't wait to start decorating.
Yeah, how exciting! Congrats!!
