Weardrobe sessions-the last days of summer

I had the hardest time getting dressed today. It could be that I was trying to plan my outfit around going into school and setting up my classroom and going to a friend's for dinner tonight. Or it could be that I got 3 hours of sleep last night (oh school anxiety mixed with coffee that I hardly ever drink is deadly). Either way, I tried a few different outfits and changed up the accessories for each. Honestly, I wasn't really feeling either of them but needed to get out of the house and into my home-away-from-home, room 226. Actually, room 226 is brand new to me (I switched classrooms this summer) but it is quickly feeling like mine.

The first outfit that I tried was with a pair of cutoffs that I made this morning (this is what I do when I can't sleep at 7am). My best friend Lizzie had cut a pair yesterday after realizing that she needed some cute shorts and so inspired me to do the same. At one point I had found a pair of Polo Jeans that I loved so much I bought 2 pair. I tried them on to make sure they still fit and then started cutting. I used my trusty Guess cutoffs as a guide and I think they turned out pretty well. To start, I paired them with a purple blouse and a white tank. The blouse is another oldy-but-goody that I think I picked up at Target. I tried some different sunglasses and shoes and I pulled out a couple of old hats that I've held onto forever. I felt too dressy to go into school and cleanup so I changed my top to one that I barely ever wear. It has a 70s feel to it (orange and brown) and I love it, but can never find what to wear it with. I think I got this one at Wet seal a few years ago. I ended up wearing it with flip flops but liked the look of it with the fake snakeskin shoes.

I am off now to dinner. Probably will change once more before I head out. Just one of those days...

  2. Are you sure that purple shirt is from Target years ago? I have the exact same one and I got it this winter, I think at Heritage 1981 (is that what that store is called?) I'd never thought of wearing it with a white shirt under it, but it looks super cute! Thanks for the great ideas.

    @BillyPru, yes it is, thanks!

    @ Zabby, really not sure. I have it in blue too and it could be Heritage 1981. Did we buy them together?
