HOT

I was told when I first found out that I was pregnant that I would be hotter than I ever had been in my life over the summer.  I was also told that I would have morning sickness, cravings and swell up like a balloon, none of which proved to be true.  Well, I don't know if it is the fact that I am pregnant or the fact that this has been the warmest summer ever recorded (starting in the 1800s) but I am in fact, HOT.  I know it didn't help that our central air has broken 3 times since the summer started and the last time it broke, over a week and a half ago, there was no fixing it.  We had to order a new compressor and it had to come here by truck, from Denver.  So, we spent the last couple of weeks in agony.  I showed up at my mom's house a few nights ago in tears because my heartburn was so bad, my iron pills were killing my stomach and I couldn't find a cool place in my house to take a nap.  But I am happy to report that my heartburn is at bay, I have stopped taking my iron pills (I'm just taking a swig of good old fashioned black strap molasses along with my prenatals) and our new central air compressor is here and working, hard.  Our kitties are much happier too!

I went shopping today for a dress for an upcoming wedding and ended up buying 2.  And I think I am going to return both of them.  It's a hard decision as what to do with this belly.  I am not trying to hide the fact that I am pregnant, at all, but I can't tell if a more form fitting dress looks kind of trashy on me right now.  Ha, I don't know if trashy is the right word but I am already pretty curvy and then you add the bump in the front with the bump in the back and I feel a little, well, trashy.  So I bought 2 dresses that are less form fitting and now I think they just make me look square.  Not square as in uncool, but like the actual shape of a square.  I did find this pink sundress which I fell in love with, but think it's a little too casual for an evening wedding. But the style is perfect, high waisted with a built in sash/belt and a little extra length over the bump.  Hmmm, we'll see.  Hopefully I can find a dress that works.  Any suggestions?

  1. I hear you on the dress situation! I stayed away from dresses because I felt ridiculous in them. I attended an evening wedding in the Spring while pregnant and chose a lightly ruffled sleeveless blouse and pants. Both were form fitting and appropriate. And I didn't feel like a balloon.
The pink dress is super cute on you, too.
