PA or bust

Sorry for the brief hiatus there. I had another crazy busy weekend and I actually don't remember Thursday of last week so I am not even sure why I didn't post (or what I even wore for that matter!) Friday was so busy that I didn't have time to do a picture. I had work then the gym (another 2 mile run) then shower, errands and then we took our niece Jayde to the annual Toys for Tots Christmas party at my school. It was fun but exhausting and we had to get up relatively early Sat morning to begin our 6 hour ride to PA. One of my very best friends from college, Liza, got married this weekend outside of Philly. And hell or high water, I was going to be there. Well, not high water exactly, but snow.

I guess when you decide you want to have a winter wedding (which is an awesome idea by the way) the best weather you can ask for is snow. I mean, not a storm, necessarily, but a nice white covering that just looks pretty. Well, that is exactly what they got. When Damien and I left Saturday morning at 8:45, it was rainy and a bit miserable. I wore a comfy car outfit, including my favorite Target slippers. We had a 6 hour ride in front of us (with stops) and we were hoping to make it to the hotel by 3. We succeeded in this (thanks to one of the best playlists ever; more on that tomorrow) and Damien's patient driving. The wedding was at 6:30 and there was a shuttle bus at 5:30. I, of course, waited until the last minute to get dressed. I had seen Jen in this dress over the summer and completely fell in love with it. When I found it at F21 in my size a few months ago, I grabbed it, knowing that I had a few weddings coming up. I also bought this faux fur jacket which has come in very handy. A great headband and my gold sequin ballet slippers later, I was ready to go. At this point, it was full on snowing and by the time we arrived at the venue, there was cumulation. But it was perfect. The entire evening was. The place was beautiful, Liza was gorgeous, the food was delicious and the company was wonderful. I saw my best friends from college and we danced all night long. Congratulations Liza and Lance! I love you guys.

Sunday began with brunch and then on the road again, to make the 6 hour journey home. We got in around 5 and then I did school work until 10:30 last night. I didn't get a style pic in today, and what a crazy day it was. We had a BOMB SCARE. Seriously, someone wrote on the bathroom wall in the boys' room that a bomb would go off at noon today. So we spent about 40 minutes outside in the freezing cold, waiting to see if our school would blow up. It didn't, thank god, and we finished out the day freezing and a little on edge. I am hoping that tomorrow goes a little more smoothly! Have a great week.
