Today epitomized the saying "Life is a journey, not a destination." I had seen that WGBH was doing an event at their Brighton studios with ice cream, games and a meet and greet with Curious George. I thought it sounded like a perfect summer Saturday afternoon. We asked our friends to come along and the six of us headed off for the big city. Turns out everyone else in the greater Boston area had the same idea and by their Brighton studios, they meant the alley outside their Brighton studios. Needless to say, it was horrendous. There were way too many people there, not enough space, and it was complete chaos. I think we lasted about 45 minutes, after paying $45 for the 6 of us to get in, and we left with two screaming children that wanted to go on the bouncy houses. We decided that a less chaotic day was in store and we headed to an indoor play land, complete with bouncy houses and a mini arcade. The children had a blast. For us, the time spent in the car, laughing, cursing WGBH and just spending time as two families, the best of friends, who go on adventures together as our little ones grow, that is what made the day.
